INDIANAPOLIS — Santa Claus visited the Indianapolis International Airport for the 13th time Saturday, as part of the sold-out Holly Jolly Jetway event!
Here, thousands of Hoosiers got to watch Father Christmas himself ride in a fire truck across the airport tarmac. This annual event acts as Santa’s “first practice run” to get ready for the holidays.

Festivities continued as he and other famous figures – like the Grinch and the Sugar Plum Fairy – met attendees at the Civic Plaza. Families also got to make ornaments, wrap care packages for USO families, listen to stories, and more.
And, even if you were not able to meet Santa Saturday, the airport says you will still be able to enjoy themed events this winter.
Local performers will be showcasing their skills each day from December 13th through the 26th, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Learn more about upcoming events on the airport’s Facebook page.
