BOONE COUNTY, Ind. – You may remember when threats were found on a Western Boone student’s computer in October. Now, police say that student will not be facing charges.
Officers were called on October 16th, 2024, after the Western Boone School Administration learned of “concerning internet searches and a document…on a student’s computer.”
While specific details about the threats were not released, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office says they were directed at “specific students and staff members” at the high school.
But, following an investigation, the BCSO has determined that the student involved never actually “communicated” a threat to anyone else. It is not clear if this means the student was not responsible for the “concerning” content, or if they simply did not share the content.
Regardless, officers say no charges are pending against the student, and the case has been closed.
