Is The Super Bowl Rigged?
The Kansas City Chiefs are headed to their third consecutive Super Bowl, so IT MUST BE RIGGED!
The Chiefs’ continued success has sparked controversy over perceived favoritism from the NFL, citing favorable officiating during their games. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was asked about these theories at a Super Bowl media session. Goodell said that while he finds all the speculations as nothing but conspiracy, he wanted to defend the integrity of the league and the refereeing.
“This sort of reminds me a little bit of the script right, that I write a script and I have the script for the entire season…I think it reflects a lot of the fans passion. And I think it is also important for us of how important officiating is. I think the men and women that officiate in the NFL are outstanding. They have the highest possible standards. That is a ridiculous theory for anyone who might take it seriously. But at the end of the day, you know it is something that we always have to continue to work on.”
The NFL Referees Association also released an official statement blasting these conspiracy theories as “insulting and preposterous.”
The NFL Referees received major backlash from fans for the statement. Fans are arguing that the association is just fueling the fire of the theories even more so.
Travis Kelce, tight end for the Chiefs, even threw in a quick comment asking why anyone is even giving these speculations a headline to begin with?
Hammer and Nigel say that fans points are valid when it comes to the last several Chiefs games and questionable calls. However, at the end of the day, these guys aren’t boycotting anything. We are here for the wings and beer, American football, and all the sports betting!
