FORT WAYNE, Ind. — While your wallet may have been suffering over the last few years, a study has determined that one Hoosier city is among those with the fewest “people in financial distress.”
WalletHub looked at 100 American cities to determine which had the most people experiencing “financial distress.” Ultimately, researchers found that Fort Wayne, Indiana, was 99th on the list.
Now, if you think that sounds like a bad place to be, you will be pleased to know that it is actually the opposite. The “least distressed” city – Anchorage, Alaska – took spot 100.
On the other hand, cities experiencing the most distress were:
- Houston, TX
- Atlanta, GA
- Jacksonville, FL
- Dallas, TX
- Charlotte, NC
Indianapolis found itself in spot 30 on the list. Metrics used included average credit scores and the change in bankruptcy filings between December of 2023 and 2024. Learn more here.
