IMPD releases Bodycam Video of 2 Fatal Police Shootings of Men with Machetes

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department on Friday released bodycam footage from two police shootings in December.

The first happened Dec. 4, when police responded to a crash on Brookville Way. An officer encountered a man armed with a machete.

Video released Friday on YouTube showed the officer commanding the man to drop the machete. The man then charged at the officer with the machete. The officer then opened fire, shooting him.

Medics took Christopher L. Worrell, 37, to a hospital, where he later died.

The other police shooting happened Dec. 19 near Warman Avenue.

Video released Friday on YouTube showed the suspect in this case charging at officers with a machete above his head. Officers told him to drop the weapon, but he did not comply. Two officers then opened fire, striking the man.

Medics transported him to a local hospital where he later died. The video released Friday identified the man as Antonio Menocal Antunez, 40.

A gun was also found at the scene.
