Scot Pollard, Former Pacer Player Joins The Hammer & Nigel Show
Just one year ago, former Pacer, Scot Pollard had life-changing news, he would be getting a new heart.
Pollard was at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with end-stage heart failure due to a genetic heart condition that he had lost his own father to. Unlike his father, Pollard was miraculously taken off the waitlist for a heart transplant after a family’s loved one had his same blood type and similar stature. It felt nearly impossible for the 6ft 11″ NBA player to find a match, but Casey Angell’s family truly became his guardian angels. On Feb. 16th, 2024, Pollard received the gift of a better life.
Scot stopped by the Hammer and Nigel show to talk about his heart transplant one year anniversary in hopes of educating others. He talks about not just his health journey, but how important the donor’s family has become to him.
Pollard will be a keynote speaker at Pearls of Life’s launch party fundraiser, March 22nd in Carmel, IN. Pearls of Life advocates for organ donations, educate the community and support families who are going through the organ transplant or donation process.
