Ever wondered how much celebrities earn for hosting the Oscars?

The salaries of some of the biggest names in comedy and entertainment have recently been revealed, shedding light on how much they’re paid to take center stage during Hollywood’s biggest night.

Jimmy Kimmel’s Oscars Hosting Salary: $15,000

In 2017, Jimmy Kimmel shocked fans when he revealed his salary for hosting the Oscars. During an appearance on KROQ’s “Kevin & Bean,” he shared that he was paid just $15,000 for the high-profile role.

“I think it’s illegal to pay nothing,” Jimmy joked. “But nobody told me not to. I consider this their fault.”

Years later, in 2022, Kimmel repeated the same amount while chatting with Wanda Sykes, the Oscars host that year, confirming that the pay remained modest for the prestigious gig.

Wanda Sykes’ Oscars Hosting Salary: “Scale”

Wanda Sykes, who co-hosted the 2022 Oscars, opened up about her salary for the event. When discussing the gig, she humorously remarked, “Out of all the jobs I have, this one is actually gonna cost me money.”

When asked by Kimmel how much she was making for the Oscars, Sykes responded, “Like scale, probably.” Kimmel, not missing a beat, joked, “It’s less than that.”

In Hollywood, “scale” typically refers to the minimum payment set by unions for performances, which is often a modest sum.

Conan O’Brien’s Oscars Hosting Salary: Estimated Between $15,000 and $25,000

Though Conan O’Brien has never publicly revealed his exact salary for hosting the Oscars, reports from The Hollywood Reporter suggest that hosts typically earn somewhere between $15,000 and $25,000 for the event.

While it’s unclear whether Conan’s pay falls on the higher or lower end of that range, it’s safe to say that his pay would be in a similar ballpark.
