Dems Wouldn’t Even Clap For A 13 Year-Old Cancer Survivor…
“I think the Democrats really embarrassed themselves. I mean, they wouldn’t even stand up for DJ, who survived cancer. I mean, it’s childish.” Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-MO said it best on Fox News Digital when describing the behavior of the left during President Trump’s address to Congress.
It was no surprise that the Democrats pulled every attention-seeking stop they could for President Trump’s first joint address to Congress on Tuesday night.
During Trump’s speech, several members of the Democratic party held paddles with phrases like “false” and “Musk steals.” Some Democrats chose to wear pink clothing to “signify” female power. Al Greene consistently heckled the president until he was ultimately thrown out. Dozens of Democrat leaders chose to walk-out during the speech, while others (like AOC) chose not to attend at all.
We expected the childish antics, we expected booing and interruptions, and we expected scowls. What we didn’t expect from the “progressives” was when they sat on their hands and refused to applaud a 13 year-old cancer survivor receiving an unforgettable honor.
Trump took a moment to recognize D.J. Daniel, a 13-year-old brain cancer survivor. He talked about D.J’s inspiring story and his own aspirations to become a police officer one day. D.J, along with his father were in attendance as Trump announced the brave young man would be receiving an honorary special agent certificate from Secret Service Director Sean Curran. The heartfelt moment had the room chanting D.J’s name and cheering him on.. all but the Democrats who chose to sit and stare.
It wasn’t just Democrat leaders that turned their noses to the young boy’s moment. The extreme left media also had choice words about Trump’s presentation to D.J.
Rachel Maddow called the moment “disgusting,” while Nicole Wallace turned the honor into another slide about January 6th.
Hammer points out that their reactions, or lack-there-of, is only hurting their own party and image.
“If you don’t like Donald Trump’s policies and you want to sit down, okay. If he’s doing a victory lap on the southern border and you feel like the border should be open, I get it. But you’re going out of your way not to stand up for a kid that beat cancer and is getting to live out his dream. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and these other sour-faced Democrats that refused to get up – you just gave the Republicans a campaign commercial.”
