NWS: Warm Temperatures and Rain Chances

STATEWIDE — There was some rain throughout the weekend, but temperatures were pretty warm, especially in Indianapolis. What’s to expect now?
Alexander McGinnis is a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis. He says there will be some quiet conditions in Indiana throughout the work week, but there are chances of rain in the forecast.
“There may be some stronger breezes on Monday. It will be quiet Monday through Wednesday,” McGinnis says.
McGinnis says Tuesday and Wednesday may be your best days in Indiana, not only because of the temperatures, but because of the skies.
“I wouldn’t call it a “full sun,” but certainly, I’ll call it “partly to mostly sunny” at times,” McGinnis says. “Tuesday and Wednesday will be lovely spring days.”
After that though, expect conditions to get potentially worse.
“Later on in the week, Thursday into Friday, there could be generally light to moderate amounts of rain,” McGinnis says. “You could see isolated areas that could possibly see over an inch.”
On the bright side though, temperatures will be pretty warm throughout the work week.
“Monday is going to start off feeling cool with the winds. Highs are in the 60’s. For Tuesday, expect temperatures in the 70’s. Wednesday, expect even widespread mid to upper 70’s, continuing into Thursday, even when the chances of rain return. As we get towards Friday, low 70’s are possible,” McGinnis says.
