Another round of private messages from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has been leaked.

Last month, Hegseth was the center of the “Signal-gate” scandal. The controversary occurred when the Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg was accidentally added to a private group message within the app between the Secretary of Defense, Vice President J.D. Vance, and other political figures.

Hegseth is under fire again after more messages from a private Signal chat leaked. This time the messages were with his wife, brother, and personal lawyer discussing information about an impending strike on Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.

He made it clear that all messages leaked then and now were all “informal unclassified coordination’s” and nothing more.

The Secretary of Defense told Brian Kilmeade of “Fox and Friends” Tuesday that there has been a series of investigations into the internal leaks. Hegseth says a few staffers had already been let go, but implied the group is still leaking information to the media. He did not name individuals.

“Those who have been leaking, who have been pushed out of the building are now trying to leak and sabotage the President’s agenda and what we’re doing.”

While there have been rumors of Hegseth getting fired due to the leaks, the Trump Administration has stood at his defense. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that “the etnire Pentagon is working against” him. President Trump even backed Hegseth when asked about his role, “Pete is doing a great job. Ask the Houthis how he’s doing.”

The former Fox and Friends host said that once the investigation gains enough evidence against the alleged leakers “it will be handed over to [the Justice Department], and those people will be prosecuted if necessary.”
