STATEWIDE — You may expect storms in your forecast, yet temperatures will remain warm.

However, the work week will start off with sunny skies, says Andrew White, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

“Monday will face temperatures near 80 with plenty of sun,” White says.

White says Tuesday is when it is supposed to start getting pretty gloomy.

“Tuesday is when the first set of storms will be moving in. It will most likely be in the late morning to early afternoon hours, and that’s just the start of a pretty active pattern, continuing into the week,” White says. “There are good chances for rain just about everyday, up through Friday.”

White says rain, hail, and winds are your main concerns in the middle of the week.

“As we get later into the week, we’re still looking at the potential for upwards of another half inch to an inch of rain,” White says. “Then, through the northern portions of the state, there could be amounts closer to two inches by the end of the week.”

White says this could happen pretty much anywhere across the state.

“At this point, just about anywhere has an equal chance for severe weather,” White says. “There is not too much of a difference when moving north through south.”

White also says temperatures will remain warm, but they may decrease as the week goes on.

“Monday and Tuesday will be pretty warm, and it will cool down a little bit later in the week with highs in the upper 60’s to lower 70’s,” White says.
