What Value Are The Republicans If They Vote For Tax Increases? Indiana GOP just increased taxes on us and small business. What purpose does a supermajority serve if they do this to Hoosiers?
I do not know what the value of our Republican Party is if we’re voting for tax increases. I don’t know where the morality is in in in this. I do know where the lack of strength is in this. I do not look at Democrats voting against this legislation and saying they got it right. No, they’re voting against for a whole series of different reasons, tax increases. We’re just fine by them as a party nationwide and certainly locally. You go through this list, and it is. It is sad. Hunter Smith. Danny Lopez. Could anybody have been more vocal about getting somebody elected and like Danny, this is a mistake. My not going to say so.. of course I’m going to say so. It goes on and on. Name the Republican… It goes on and on and those are those are some reps, just some. Not all. West Cove and Natter. How about I go through the state senators? Alexander, Baldwin, Bray. What’s the leadership here? What actually took place here? Michael Young. Senator Young did not vote for the budget. I’d like to talk to him. I’d like to hear his rationale, and I’ll talk to any of these people. But let’s understand that you voted for tax increases. Based on a presumption of shortfall. One does not lead and govern from panic. That’s what we see… Not only did you vote for tax increases, you targeted an industry, out of fear, out of panic, you targeted the cigar industry. You did. You did what you did. And if you want to argue it, we can. It’s going to get loud. It’s going to get ugly. It’s going to do all the things. I mean, it doesn’t have to. It would start by you saying yes, “we absolutely did target the cigar industry by raising the tax to $3.00 a stick” after limiting the tax to a dollar stick just two years ago because we went after cigarettes, because you targeted an industry. To make up for your failure to see the future.
