Three Hurt in Overnight Shootings Across Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — Three men were shot overnight in separate neighborhoods across the city, all within a few hours, according to police.
The first shooting happened around 11 p.m. Monday in a neighborhood near Windsong Drive, close to North Mitthoeffer Road and East 21st Street on the far east side. Police say the man was shot in the leg during what appeared to be a shootout. A white Chevy Impala was seen leaving the area. The man was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, another man was shot near West 69th Street and Michigan Road on the north side, in an apartment complex off Bridgewood Drive. Someone called 911 after hearing up to 20 gunshots. Police believe the shooting was targeted and are checking security video from nearby homes. That victim was also hospitalized in stable condition.
Just before 3 a.m., officers responded to the third shooting on the near northwest side near 21st Street and Tibbs Avenue. A man said he was walking through a park when he passed three men sitting on a bench and heard a gunshot. He ran and later realized he had been hit. He too was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.
No arrests have been announced in any of the cases.
