Families Sue Brownsburg Daycare Over Child Abuse Case

BROWNSBURG, Ind. — Families of children allegedly abused at a Brownsburg daycare are suing, claiming the staff failed to report serious accusations against a former employee now facing child molestation charges.
Gabriel Garner, 22, was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Hendricks County Jail. Police say he molested children under 14 while working at Main Street University 4 Kidz, where he had been employed since 2021.
Attorneys Tammy Meyer and Catherine Michael from the Carmel law firm Connell Michael are representing the families and pursuing legal action. Michael described the abuse as “tragic and horrific” and urged other potential victims’ families to come forward.
A teacher at the daycare reported incidents involving a 3-year-old and 5-year-old to the Indiana Department of Child Services after realizing the staff had failed to report them. Investigators say hundreds of disturbing images found on Garner’s phone show him abusing children.
Garner, known as “Mr. Gabe” to the children, allegedly admitted to some of the abuse during an interview. Attorneys for the families argue the daycare had a legal and moral duty to report suspected abuse to state officials, not handle it internally.
Garner faces preliminary charges of child molestation and child exploitation, according to jail records.
