Toll Scam Emails Appear to Originate from Indiana Email Addresses
STATEWIDE–Indiana leaders are warning of new scam messages referring to unpaid toll fees that appear to come from state agencies.
The messages instruct recipients to click a link to pay a balance and claim to be from GovDelivery, a platform previously used by some state agencies.
The Indiana Office of Technology has confirmed that these messages are scams and advises users not to click on any links.
The State of Indiana does not send unpaid toll notifications via text or email messages and is working to stop further communications from the company that was used to deliver the messages.
The Indiana Supreme Court has also confirmed that the previous messaging system, GovDelivery, has been compromised, with messages appearing to be from Indiana Courts
