White River Township Firefighter Breaks up Altercation at Nail Salon

FRANKLIN, Ind.–White River Township Fire Department Lieutenant Greg Hurrle stopped an altercation at Crystal Nail in Franklin last Friday.
Greg and his wife, Mandy, were at the salon getting pedicures when they noticed two employees yelling at each other. One was a man and the other was a woman.
“I could see the anger and the rage on his face. The lady that was on the stool in front of me never looked over and made eye contact. The next thing I knew he was on a full sprint from the front of the store and he kicked her in the right side of the head,” said Greg.
Greg says she went flying off her stool and over into Mandy’s chair. The woman’s head slammed into a filing cabinet. Greg stood up and decided to do something about it before things got worse.
“I was barefoot and my feet were wet. Somehow, I was able to get this guy down. He did fight a little bit, but I was able to put him in a hold,” said Greg.
Greg told one of the other patrons in the salon to call the police. They later arrived and arrested the man who kicked the woman.
“This salon is pretty popular from what I’ve heard. People seem to be shocked by this. Heck, I was there and I was shocked by it,” said Greg.
His advice is to always keep an eye on your surroundings because you never know when something like this can happen.
