A federal grand jury in Indianapolis has indicted an Illinois man in a scam involving primarily elderly people, telling them to convert their savings and retirement accounts to cash or gold bars, and to provide those funds to law enforcement for “protection.” The FBI is seeking help to find the fugitive from Illinois.

 Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears announced various criminal charges for nine individuals involved in "street takeovers" in Indianapolis last weekend. "Street takeovers" traditionally involve groups of cars blocking off an intersection to create space for exhibition driving.

An Indiana University student has been arrested after being accused of raping two women on campus. 20-year-old Noah Apgar of Greenwood was wanted on five counts of rape, Level 3 felonies, for incidents at fraternity houses on campus in the past two weeks.

A Bloomington woman charged with a federal hate crime for allegedly stabbing a Chinese American IU student has pleaded guilty. That attack happened on a city bus in January 2023, Billie Davis agreed to plead guilty to a charge of committing a hate crime, she will be sentenced December 3 and faces a maximum sentence of up to 10 years in prison, and three years of supervised release.
